Common Conditions:

TCM Mechanism:

Headache:

Often due to external wind invasion, liver yang rising, qi stagnation, or blood deficiency failing to nourish the head.

Migraine:

Associated with liver qi stagnation, phlegm-damp obstruction, or imbalance of liver and gallbladder meridians.

Insomnia:

Linked to heart and spleen deficiency, yin–yang imbalance, or liver fire disturbing the mind (shen).

Stroke:

Typically caused by internal wind, phlegm obstruction, or qi and blood stasis blocking the channels.

Hypertension:

Attributed to liver yang rising, phlegm-damp retention, or kidney yin deficiency leading to imbalance.

Facial Paralysis (Bell’s Palsy):

Often due to external wind-cold invasion and qi stagnation obstructing the facial meridians.
